The 17th day of November 1652
The Clayme of Nicholas Crombeene of Cortrey}<br />
in fflanders for sixtie one potackes of Tobaccoes}<br />
whereof sixtie are without marke and one Potaccoe}<br />
marked laden on board the shipp called the ''Salvadore''}<br />
whereof Christian Cloppenbergh is Master lately}<br />
seised by some of the shipps of this Comonwealth}<br />

Examined upon an Allegation given<br />
in on the behalfe of the sayd Crombeen/
'''John Baptista Sabino''' of Cadiz<br />
in Spaine Merchant aged 27 yeares or there<br />
abouts a wittnes sworne and examined deposeth as<br />
followeth./
To the first article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth That<br />
within the time arlate videlicet in the moneth of October 1552 instant, the arlate<br />
Nicholas Crombeen by his brother William Crombeen (sic) and his Agent or factors did lade att Cadiz on board the<br />
shipp the ''Salvadore'' whereof Christian Cloppenburgh is Master Sixtie potaccoes<br />
of Tobacco without marke and one potaccoe of the marke in the markent
[MARKE, LH MARGIN]
to be transported to Ostend and there to be delivered to him the said Nicholas<br />
Crombeen or his Assignes for his owne proper Accompt and adventure which<br />
he deposeth ffor that hee this deponent being att Marackao did see William Crombeen<br />
the producents Brother buy the said Tobaccoes which he sent to Cadiz in the shipp<br />
''Nostra Seigniora da Rosario'' in which this deponent was a Passenger and did see a bill<br />
of lading signed of the said Goods for the Accompt of the said producent And<br />
otherwise he cannot depose
To the second article he saith That the schedule annexed to the said Allegation<br />
and now shewed unto this deponent was and is (as he verely beleeveth one of<br />
the originall bills of lading made for the receipt and delivery of the said<br />
Tobaccoe, and saith that he very well knoweth that the same is subscribed<br />
with the proper handwriting of the said Christian Cloppen bergh the Master<br />
of the sayd shipp for that he is well acquainted with his hand<br />
wrighting And beleeveth the same to be true and reall and so made and done<br />
as therein is conteyned And otherwise he cannot depose
