Transcription were hyred by the said John Peine, And thawere hyred by the said John Peine, And that he<br /> very well knoweth that divers of the rates of wages<br /> sett downe in the said schedule were contracted for<br /> betweene the said Peine and the Mariners and<br /> accordingly payd, And further he deposeth not. To the 5th he sayth that the sayd shipp was at the<br /> time arlate of the burthen of 120 Tonns, and that<br /> there could be a lesse Number then what was in<br /> her the voyage arlate for the managing of her<br /> And further he deposeth not. To the sixth, and to the schedule therein mentioned he sayth<br /> that at the time Libellate the rates (sett downe in the sayd schedule) of wages<br /> payd to the Mariners the voyage arlate were then usuall, and<br /> that now they are much encreasd, And that the party<br /> producent for the Divers goods as well as his owne<br /> hyrd men at as cheape a rate as he could And further<br /> de deposth not So the seaventh article he deposeth That the said shipp<br /> the ''West India Merchant'' having divers goods and<br /> many passengers on board her and 200 Leagues at Sea<br /> on her voyage to Virginia was commanded to attend on and<br /> assist a ffleet going to reduce the Barbathoes which shee<br /> did, and that there were three monthes gone before the<br /> said shipp could bee freed from the States=service<br /> And further he cannot depose./ To the 8th he deposeth that after the release of the said<br /> shipp from the service wherunto she was commanded she<br /> proceeded upon her Merchandizing voyage to Virginia,<br /> and that upon her arrivall there the passengers and<br /> goods transported in her were safely landed, And<br /> further he deposeth not. To the 9th, that the Lading which the said shipp tooke in<br /> at Virginia was Tobacco, and that the said Tobacco<br /> was consigned to the arlate Hussey and [?Pinkhorne] and<br /> other persons who dwelt at Southampton, And<br /> further he deposeth not/ To the 10th article he deposeth that tehs aid shipp<br /> arrived safely at Southampton with her lading<br /> in or about the month of June 1652, and that<br /> she did there disccharge her Lading And further he knoweth<br /> not to depose.
