To the 13th article of the sayd allegation he saith the sayd shipp when she was<br />
lost was of the burthen of 220 tonnes or thereabouts and had 18 guns<br />
and was with her tackle and provisions and appurtenances worth the somme
of £2000 or thereabouts and the foresayd oyles were worth the first<br />
penny neere upon 17000 dollars and would if they had come safe<br />
to England have yeelded a farr greater price. And otherwise<br />
cannot depose.
To the 14th he saith that the sayd Passage from Corona to Zant is very<br />
dangerous in regard of Pyratts which he knoweth for that it is much<br />
frequented ad infested by Dearovers as well Turkes as Bandites<br />
plying thereabouts, and siath in probability in case the sayd oyles had<br />
bene furnished att Petras according to the Agreement made with<br />
Mr Hatton they might have come safely to this Port of London whence<br />
they were designed for the Accompt aforesayd, the passage from Corona<br />
to Zant being a more safe passage. And otherwise cannot depose.
