Cadiz in Spaine merchant aged<br />
23 yeares or thereabouts a witnes<br />
sworne and examined deposeth and<br />
sayeth as followeth videlicet.
To the first article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the<br />
arlate Paul Garcia Santillana and Domingo de Baldus<br />
who are both of them persons well knowne to this deponent<br />
were and are merchants and Inhabitants of Cadiz and Spaniards<br />
borne and subiects of the King of Spaine and merchants of<br />
good esteeme and account and so accounted which he knoweth<br />
being a native and Inhabitant of Cadiz abd having frequent<br />
converse with the sayd parties. And otherwise he cannot depose<br />
saving, that he is the servant to the sayd Santillana, and factor<br />
to both of the sayd partie whereby he hath more particular knowledge<br />
of them and their trade and dealings.
To the second Article of the sayd allegation he saith that in the moneth of<br />
August last past 1653. the arlate Paul Garcia de Santillana<br />
and Domingo de Baldus did send this deponent being Thomas<br />
Miluti arlate as their factor or Agent from Cadiz to Saint Malloes<br />
in ffrance to buy linnen Cloth there for their use and accompt<br />
and to transport the same to Cadiz or Saint Lucar in Spain. And<br />
that to effect the same the sayd Paul Garcia Santillana did deliver unto this<br />
deponent att Cadiz aforesayd a quantity of leather and Indico<br />
of good value, and the sauyd Domingo de Baldus did deliver<br />
unto him this deponent att Cadiz the number of 700 pieces of 8/8<br />
to that purpose, and this deponent with the sayd goodes and moneyes<br />
and arrived with the same att Saint Mallos in the month of<br />
September 1652, And otherwise he cannot depose./
To the third article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith That after<br />
the arrivall of this deponent att Saint<br />
mallo as aforesayd, he this deponent did there sell<br />
the sayd Indico and leather for the use and accompt of the<br />
saydhe use and accompt of the<br />
