Bud''' '''William Bower''' of Ratcliffe one of the Labourers<br /> in the yard of Mr Pett shipwright aged 42<br /> yeares or thereabouts a witnes sworne and<br /> examined deposeth and saith as followeth. To the 1. 2. 3. and 4th articles of the sayd Libell This deponent saith that hee<br /> knoweth the arlate shipp the ''William and George'' and so hath<br /> for 3 yeares or thereabouts and that in the yeare 1651. the arlate<br /> Captaine Allen was Master of the sayd shipp and so accounted, and saith that<br /> about Michaelmas in the same yeare the tyme he otherwise remembreth<br /> not the sayd shipp stood in need of reparations, and that the arlate<br /> Peter Pett att the Request of the sayd Allen or his Assignes by<br /> him imployed in repaire of her did furnish severall materialls<br /> for the fitting of her out to sea many of which materialls and<br /> provisions for the needfull repair of the sayd shipp he this deponent<br /> being then a Labourer in the sayd Peter Petts yard att Ratcliffe did woth<br /> his owne hands deliver to the Carpenter of the sayd shipp. and saith he<br /> saw the sayd shipp repaired, and the materialls so furnished by the<br /> sayd Pett wrought into and upon the sayd shipp by the sayd Carpenter<br /> and his assistants. And saith that the sayd Peter Pett was att the tyme<br /> of delivery of the sayd materialls and provisions the true Owner and<br /> possessor thereof and so accounted and verely beleiveth that the<br /> materialls and provisions mentioned in a schedule to the sayd Libell<br /> annexed and now shewne and read to this deponent, the totall summe<br /> the valew whereof amounts to 28.
