Transcription To the fifth article of the sayd allegatioTo the fifth article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the sayd shipp<br /> the ''Elizabeth and Mary'' in August of 1652 arrived safely att Copenhagen withall the<br /> foresayd goods Clothes and necessaries in her and was there in<br /> September then next ensueing deteyned and hndred from proceeding upon her voyage<br /> for London by the order if the King of denmarke and in ffebruary 1652 then<br /> next ensueing was by the power and authority of the King and<br /> the armed force of his Ministers and people absolutely seized withall<br /> the foresayd goods aCloatehs an necessaries, and this deponent<br /> who was present and saw the premisses so done ws by the sayd power and<br /> force absolutely dispossest of the sayd shipp and goods aforesayd by meanes<br /> and reason whereof the sayd shipp and all the foresayd goods are<br /> become lost to the forementioned true owners thereof. And otherwise<br /> he cannot depose. To the sixth article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that by meanes<br /> and reason of the premisses this deponent and Company owners of<br /> the sayd shipp have besides the dammages aforesayd lost in the freight of<br /> the merchants goods in the foresayd voyage amounting to 700 ''li''<br /> sterling and the losse of their sayd shipps ymployment 100 ''li'' sterling per month. nd this deponent in his losse of tyme and expenses<br /> in denmarke and travaile home for England over and besides<br /> the dammages afresayd hath susteyned dammage to the value of<br /> 200 ''li'' sterling.
