Transcription signed twelve bills of lading for all the signed twelve bills of lading for all the moneys and plate laden aboard the<br /> shipp the ''Saint George'' aforesayd (the [?tabble] plate onely excepted) in the presence<br /> and sight of this deponent that is to say, three of one tenor for severall parcells<br /> of sylver mentioned therein, three more of one tenor for severall other parcells of<br /> sylver mentioned therein, three more of one tenor for other parcells of<br /> sylver mentioned therein and allso three more of one tenor for severall other<br /> parcells of sylver mentioned therein; And the sayd Otto George in the sight of<br /> this deponent signed three bills of lading of one tenor for the sayd forty six barrs<br /> of sylver, and three bills of lading of one tenor for the sayd nine baretons<br /> of sylver, laden aboard the ''Sampson'' as aforesayd, And the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh<br /> in the sight of this deponent signed three bills of lading of one tenor for the<br /> sayd twenty three barretons of sylver, and three more of one tenor for the<br /> sayd two baggs of money laden aboard the ''Salvador'' as aforesayd, And he<br /> furthe saith that the respectie Captaines aforesayd after signing the<br /> sayd bills kept and continued in their owne hands respectively ne of every<br /> of the sayd bills of a different tenor signed by them as aforesayd respectively<br /> and beleiveth the same were aboard their respective shipps att the tyme of<br /> seizure. And otherwise referring himselfe to the Acts of this Court he<br /> cannot depose. To the fifth he saith that the five Bills of lading arlate to the allegation annexed<br /> and now shewne to this Examinat were and are five of the sayd Bills of<br /> lading which this deponent saw signed att Cadiz as aforesayd, And saith<br /> that the names of Paul Cobrisse of Bridges, and ffrancis Sloyer of<br /> Hamburgh were made use of by the producent in the sayd Bills onely to<br /> avoyd the danger and preiudice that might have befallen his person in<br /> Spaine in case he should have bin knowne to have transported his sayd sylver<br /> And so much this deponent heard the sayd producent say and affirme att Cadiz<br /> about the tyme of lading the same And further he cannot depose saving<br /> that in reality and truth the sayd plate and money was and is the producents<br /> onely and laden for his sole Accompt and right as aforesayd, and that te<br /> sayd Cobrisse and Sloyer had not eyther of them had or hath any interest<br /> therein or any part thereof. To the sixth he saith that the sayd John deLosa Barona is a Spaniard a native of<br /> Segovia in Spaine and a subiect of the King of Spaine and so accounted<br /> and hath of this deponents knowledge for ten years now past bene an<br /> Inhabitant of Limma in the West Indies in the Dominion of the sayd King<br /> of Spaine. And further he cannot depose. To the Crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING] To the first negatively. To the 2.d 3.d and fourth he saith that the producent is a Bachelor and this deponent<br /> saw him and lodged with him in the same howse in Cadiz and saw him stand<br /> upon the shoare or strand there att the tyme of lading of the sayd sylver<br /> and moneys which he saith was about noone tide in the say. And saith that<br /> the sayd Nicholas Carasso as factor or Agent for the producent with the assistance<br /> of this deponent and Sanchez dorissa aforesayd and boatesmen all the sayd<br /> persons being Spaniards laded the sayd plate and moneys Interrate, And<br /> the respective Captaines of the sayd shipps receyved the same aboard their<br /> respective pursers being likewise present And otherwise saving his foregoing<br /> depositions he cannot depose.
