Transcription Sea as hereafter followeth, this deponent Sea as hereafter followeth, this deponent being as aforesaid Quartermaster of and<br /> aboard the said ship during the voyage in question, and an Eye Wittnesse of<br /> and well observing and knowing the premisses to be as is predeposed. And<br /> further hee cannot depose./ To the 4th. 5. and 6th articles hee saith, That after the said 140. bundles or<br /> thereabouts of Russia hides were so laden and received aboard the said shipp<br /> shee departed therewith and with the rest of her lading from Archangell and<br /> steered her Course towards this Port of London and in such her Course<br /> by tempetuous weather was forced and strucke upon the sands of Colchester<br /> where shee remained entire for some time being swallowed with the same<br /> And after shee had so strucke, the said Robert Church, her Master caused<br /> a hoy to come aboard her for the takeing out and preserving of her lading<br /> and the said Master did unlade and cause to be unladen out of her an<br /> putt aboard the said hoy the said 140. bundles of Russia hides which<br /> were loose and the uppermost lading of the shipp as aforesaid, and were<br /> for the accompt of the said John Thomas, and saith the said bundles of<br /> hides were by that meanes stowed aboard the said hoy and preserved.<br /> The premisses hee knoweth being as aforesaid Quartermaster of and aboard<br /> the said shipp during the Voiage and at the disaster in question, and assisting<br /> in the unlading of the said hides and stowing them in the said hoy, wherein<br /> they were carried ashoare together with some other goods of the said<br /> shipps lading. And further referring himselfe to the [?Commissioners] of this<br /> Court hee sauth hee cannot depose, saving this deponent hath credibly hear<br /> that the said bundles of hides are since brought to this Port of London<br /> and are in the possession of the arlate Mr Thomas ffowell.
