Transcription said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' by the said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' by the said Richard Chewne Roger<br /> ffowke and Companie Agents and ffactors to and for the said Alderman<br /> ffrederick and Companie for their proper use and accompt, and after<br /> such delivery this deponent tooke a receipt under the hande of the said<br /> Norleigh and Constable for the said goods. And further hee cannot<br /> depose./ To the 19th hee saith, That the said goods wares and Merchandizes remained<br /> in the Lazaretta at Porta fferrara aforesaid from the moneth of ffebruary<br /> or thereabouts <u>165[?2].</u> untill the moneth of September <u>1653.</u> which their<br /> saty and remaining there was for that the said ffrederick Chewne and<br /> Companie did for so long time deny or delay the payment of the fraight<br /> due for the same; for as hee saith, in Case the said frederick and<br /> Company had paid or given order for the payment of the said fraight, their goods<br /> had immediately upon their discharge at Porta fferrara been delivered to<br /> any that should have demannded them by authority from the said ffrederick<br /> and Consorts, aswell as all other Merchants goods then discharged<br /> at Porta fferrara were upon payment of the fraight due for them delivered<br /> unto their Owners or their respective orders. The premisses this deponent<br /> well knoweth being as aforesaid Purser of and belonging to the said<br /> shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' during the Voyage in question, and upon<br /> that occasion having particular influence upon and acquaintance with all the<br /> transactions concerning the ladeing in Controversy. And further<br /> hee saith hee cannot depose./ To the 20th hee saith,That neither the said Norleigh and Constable nor<br /> any other ffactor or factors to or for the said ffrederick and Companie did<br /> ever shew or produce any order or authority from their Principalls, whereby<br /> they did or could demannd or receive the said goods and Merchandizes<br /> from the said George hughes, or this deponent his Purser, untill about the<br /> moneth of September <u>1653.</u> arlate, in which the said Norleigh and<br /> Constable produced and shewed to this deponent at Legorne an Order<br /> from the Commissioners for Indempnity here at London requiring the delivery of<br /> the said goods, which order this deponent obeyed and accordingly delivered the [?commodities]<br /> as by him is predeposed.
