To the 10th hee saith hee hath not deposed to the article interrate:-/
To the 11th hee saith That the English Convoy and ''Thomas Bonadventure'' interrate<br />
arrived at Porta Longoone in or about the moneth of August <u>1652</u>: and that<br />
the said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' sailed thence to Porta fferara in or<br />
about the moneth of January <u>1652</u>. English stile, and knoweth not of any<br />
English shipp or shipps that in that time departed from Porto Longoone save<br />
the shipps by him predeposed, And further cannot depose./
To the 12. hee saith hee hath not deposed to the 11th article interrate./
To the 13th hee saith, That the said shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' was in or<br />
about the moneth of January <u>1652</u>. English stile pressed and commanded into<br />
the service of this Commonwealth by order of Captaine Bodiloe deriving his<br />
authority from the Councill of State of England, but the actuall impressing of<br />
the said shipp this deponent saw not, nor the Commission interrate for so doeing, And<br />
therefore cannot further depose/
To the 14th hee referreth himself to his foregoeing deposition And further cannot depose
To the 15th hee referreth himself to his foregoeing deposition. And further other=<br />
wise then negatively hee saith hee cannot depose.
To the 16th hee saith hee knoweth the Ports of London Cyprus, Zant, Longoon<br />
and Porta ferrara, and hath heard that it is out of the right way from<br />
Cyprus for London to touch at Longone or Porta ferrara, but how<br />
much hee knoweth not/
To the 17th hee saith, That the shipp ''Thomas Bonadventure'' sailed from the<br />
downes to Cyprus in the space of five weekes or thereabouts in he last<br />
Voiage thither, having all that time a very favourable wind, and beleeveth that<br />
wind and weather permitting a Voiage from thence for London may well be<br />
performed sometimes in 2. sometimes in three moneths space. And further hee<br />
cannot depose./
To the 18th hee saith hee cannot depose, not having any experience in Navigation<br />
or Tonnage of shipps.
To the 19th hee saith, That Porta Longoone is under the dominion of the<br />
king of Spaine, and Porta fferara under the duke of florence./
To the 20th hee saith hee cannot depose/
To the Interrogatories in the 2. place./:- [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith, That this rendent being at Scanderoone the voiage<br />
in question saw there a Merchant named Fowke, who was and is as this deponent<br />
beleeveth a kinsman of the aforesaid Roger ffowke, And that the said Fowke, (whose<br />
Christen name this examinate knoweth not) came from Aleppo to Scanderoon with<br />
the interrate Richard Chewne, where this rendent first saw them both, and saith<br />
that within a short time after the said Chewne arrived att Ciprus in the<br />
''dart friggat'', and came in the said shipp the ''Bonadventure'' from Cyprus to Porta<br />
Longoone, and afterwards this deponent saw him at Leghorne, but doeth not<br />
remember how often, and saith hee never saw the said ffowke since hee was at<br />
Scanderoon aforesaid so farr as hee remembreth, And otherwise saving<br />
his precedent deposition hee cannot otherwise then negatively depose/
To the 2. & 3. Interrogatories hee saith hee knoweth nothing thereof.
