Examined upon a libell and schedules thereto annexed<br />
given in on the behalfe of the sayd Mary dell./
Mary dell the Relict and Administratrix of the goods of}<br />
John dell deceased against a certayne shipp}<br />
called the ''Johns Adventure'' (whereof}<br />
Richard Thurstone was Master) and}<br />
against Roger Kilvert and Company commeing}<br />
in for their interest: ffrancklin: Smith}

of Stepney mariner aged 19 yeares or<br />
thereabouts a witnes sworne and examined<br />
saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./

To the first article of the sayd libell hee saith hee cannot depose not knowing who<br />
were the Owners of the shipp the ''Johns Adventure'' arlate the tyme arlate/
To the second and third articles of the sayd libell hee saith that hee soe well knewe<br />
the arlate Richard Thurstone for those fower yeares last or thereabouts and saith<br />
that in the yeares 1651 and 1652 videlicet about the moneths of June and July 1651 and<br />
of May June and July 1652 hee the sayd Richard Thurstone was Commonly accompted<br />
to be Master of the shipp the ''Johns Adventure'' arlate and did as Master of<br />
her make two severall voyages from the River of Thames to parts beyond the seas in the sayd shipp videlicet one voyage<br />
in the yeare 1651, and another voyage in the yeare<br />
1652 the premisses hee deposeth for that hee this deponent did in the yeares<br />
1651 and 1652 live with and was servant unto John Dell deceased while hee<br />
lived the husband of the producent Mary dell<br />
of whome the sayd<br />
Thurston bought severall things and provisions necessary for his sayd<br />
shipp in both the sayd voyages And further saving his subsequent deposition<br />
hee cannot depose./
To the 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th and nynth articles of the sayd libell and<br />
the sschedules in the sayd articles mentioned hee saith that hee this deponent<br />
well knoweth that the arlate Richard Thurston did as Master of the sayd shipp ''John Adventure'' in or about the<br />
Moneths of June or July 1651 buy of the arlate John dell this deponents<br />
then Master, and the then lawfull owner and possessor of them, all and every<br />
the severall things and provisions mentioned in the first schedule arlate<br />
for the fitting and furnishing his sayd shipp to goe a voyage then from the River of Thames to partes beyond<br />
the seas and bargaines and agreed with the sayd John dell to pay him<br />
for the same the severall prizes in the sayd first schedule expressed<br />
amounting in the whole fower pounds three shillings and a penny sterling<br />
and sett downe to which schedule this deponent referreth himselfe<br />
And alsoe knoweth that the sayd Richard Thurston in or<br />
about the months of May June and July 1652 being then bound out<br />
with his sayd shipp the ''Johns Adventure'' a second voyage to parts beyond<br />
