Transcription and sometimes in London according as his oand sometimes in London according as his occasions have required<br /> from time to time, And otherwise negatively:-/ To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee first came acquainted with the<br /> interrate Andrew Rand at the Bashia in Brazile upon the occasion<br /> predeposed, and hath knowne him ever since, and beleeveth his knowne<br /> place of fixed residence hath for all that time been in or about this City<br /> And further cannot depose./ To the third hee saith, that one Belchior Vaz Ripero a Portuguese<br /> Merchant dwelling at the Bahia and then the generall Correspondent<br /> of English Merchants and Masters of shipps frequenting there,<br /> did in exchange for other goods by him bought of the said Andrew<br /> Rand give and deliver for his use the said 10. Chests of sugaars, as this<br /> deponent then and there understood by the credible information of the said<br /> Belchior and others And otherwise negatively And further cannot<br /> depose./ To the 4th hee saith, That the said sugars as aforesaid were laden and<br /> brought aboard the said sdhipp by the said Belchior Vaz Ripero<br /> who was and is a Portugueze, And otherwise negatively saving his<br /> foregoeing deposition to which hee referreth:/ To the 5th negatively to every part thereof, saying as aforesaid that<br /> the said sugars did actually come to the possession of the said English<br /> seizors. To the 6th hee saith, That, as hee hath predeposed, the sugars now Claymed<br /> came to the possession of the said English seizors and never came to Lisbone<br /> And saith this deponent never heard neither doeth hee beleeve That the said<br /> Andrew Rand did ever Clayme the sugars interrate before the [?Commissioners GUTTER]<br /> interrate nor that there was any determination of the said Commissioners of or<br /> concerning the same. And further cannot depose./ To the 7th hee saith hee this rendent is the person interrate who signed<br /> the bill of ;adeing interrate at the place and at or about the time therein<br /> expressed, And saith by vertue of his oath, That hee signed no bill or bills of<br /> ladeing of any different tenor from that now showne him, for the goods in<br /> Controversie. And further cannot depose./ To the 8th hee saith hee doeth not know nor beleeve in Conscience that<br /> any part or parcell of the sugars now claymed did or doeth belong to any<br /> ffrenchman or ffrenchmen or to any Subjects or Subjects of the ffrench<br /> king interrate.
