Transcription To the first article of the said allegatioTo the first article of the said allegation this deponent saith and<br /> deposeth that the shipp ''dove'' whereof Walter Cable was and is<br /> master in her voyage which shee made about the beginninge of<br /> August last from the River of Thames to Newcastle did not<br /> touch fall foule with or come near any shipp or vessell whatsoeever<br /> neither did shee in her passage through the Well nor untill shee<br /> came to Newcastle touch any shipp nor vessell whatsoeever, which this<br /> deponent knoweth being one of the company of the said shipp ''Dove''<br /> and being on board her all the said voyage, and knoweing that noe<br /> such dammage or disaster as is in this cause pretended could bee done<br /> But this deponent must needs have knowne it. And further cannot depose. To the second article of the sayd allegation this deponent saith and deposeth<br /> that in or about August and dureing the ''Doves'' aboad at the Scheilds<br /> the voyage in question this deponent saw aboate come to the ''doves'' side<br /> and enquired for William Robinson the Masters boy, and told him in<br /> this deponents heareing that there was a kinsman of his on shoare<br /> that had brought cloathes for him from his mother, or words to that<br /> effect wherefor the said Robinson went willingly a shoare with them, But<br /> when hee came a shoare (as hee afterwards related the same to this deponent<br /> and the rest of the shipps company) the Master of the ''Successe''<br /> arlate did [?Xamper] with the said Robinson to have him say that the ''dove''<br /> was the shipp that over runn the ''Successe'', or to that effect, and gave<br /> him drinke and sett meat before him: and further to this article hee cannot depose./ To the third article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br /> when the shipp ''Dove'' arlate lay in the River of Newcastle the master did hire two<br /> Caarpenters besides his owne to search for a leake that was in her<br /> and they found a peece of her head rotten, which because it<br /> was rotten and not by reason of her knockinge against any other shipp or vessell<br /> they cut it out, and put in a new peece, which this deponent knoweth<br /> being present and knoweing and seeing the premisses, and further cannot<br /> depose./ To the fourth article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth<br /> that hee never heard any of the Company of the say or confesse<br /> that they pretended dammage to the ''Successe'' was done, by the said shipp ''dove''<br /> andby the said shipp ''dove''<br /> and  +
