Transcription To the first article of the said allegatioTo the first article of the said allegation hee deposeth<br /> and saith that hee was a marryner in and aboard the ship the<br /> ''dove'' arlate the voyage in question, and saith that the said ship ''dove''<br /> arlate whereof walter Cable was master did about the latter end of<br /> the summer last past (and otherwise hee cannot reckon the tyme) which<br /> hee conceaveth to bee the voyage in queation, passe betweene<br /> London and Newcastle in company of some other shipps, and did not<br /> in that voyage or passage meet violently stiicke or touch any<br /> shipp or vessell whatsoever, neither in the place called the well or<br /> any other place neither did shee touch or strike the shipp the<br /> ''Successe'' arlate. this deponent being aboard the said shipp ''dove'' all the said<br /> voyage and knoweinge the premisses to bee true And further to this<br /> article cannot depose./. To the second article of the said allegation this deponent saith that one of<br /> the boyes of the shipp ''dove'' (being sent for a shoare whilest the shipp<br /> lay att the Sheilds the voyage in question) did relate his concerne<br /> on board that the Master of the ''Successe'' did give him drinke, and would have had<br /> him confesse that the shipp ''dove'' arlate was the shipp that overrunn or<br /> oversett the shipp ''Successe''. amd furthe to this article hee cannot depose. To the third article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that<br /> when the shipp ''dove'' arlate came into the River of Newcastle the<br /> Master caused her to bee searched for some leakynes that was in her<br /> both in the former and that voyage, and they found a peeice of her [?bowe]<br /> to bee rotten which they cutt out and put in a new peece. which was soe<br /> done because of the rottennesse and not by occasion of any blow<br /> or stroke against any other shipp the voyage arlate, all which this<br /> deponent knoweth t bee true because hee was aboard and saw knew as hee<br /> hath deposed. and further cannot depose./ To the last article of the said allegation hee saith and deposeth that hee never<br /> heard any of the shipp ''doves'' company confesse or say that the<br /> dammage in controversy was done by the said shipp ''dove'' the voyage in<br /> question, neither doth hee beleave any of them will say soe, for if<br /> they doe they therein say that which is false and otherwise cannot<br /> depose./.
