To the fifth article hee saith that the freighters were to pay freight<br />
for the goods belonging unto them namely twelve gilders per bale<br />
for 67 or 69 ales (which they had aboard) amounting to 81 ''li'' 12 ''s'' sterling<br />
or thereabouts, 28 gilders and 16 stivers per tonne for fiftie tonnes<br />
and one hogshead of traine oile which they had alsoe aboard,<br />
amounting to 144 ''li'', 9 ''s'', 4 ''d'' sterling or thereabouts,<br />
28 gilders and 16 stivers per tonne for 20 tonns of box<br />
wood and whale finnes, amounting to 57 ''li'' - 12 ''s'' sterling or thereabouts<br />
and to the valew of 20 ''s'' sterling or thereabouts for foure [?rowles] of<br />
sack-cloth, and this deponent was to have for a cloake cloth<br />
100 gilders amountinge to about 10 ''li'' sterlinge, and for<br />
demourage for soe many dayes as hee should be hindered twenty<br />
gilders (amounting to about 40 ''s'' sterling) for each day, And this hee<br />
saith was and is true, publique and notorious, And otherwise he<br />
cannot depose; And saith the said seizure was made on<br />
the sixth day (newe stile) of October last past. And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose, saving that averidge was to be paid according to the<br />
custome of the sea.
To the crosse Interrogatories. [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first hee saith hee hath bin master of the said shipp about<br />
fower yeares and was borne and hath dwelt all his time att fflushing<br />
under the dominion of the States of the United Netherlands, and<br />
otherwise hee referreth himselfe to his foregoing deposition.
To the second hee saith hee hath knowne the said Gisling and company<br />
above yeares last, and saith they are all fflushingers, namely<br />
the said Everard Gysling, hubrecht Brest, Abraham van Pera, myn<br />
heer van Acker, ffran[?X] Mangelar, Cornelius Williamson, Jussrow<br />
Bancker, John Thysen, Adrian Bancker, Lambrecht Bartleson<br />
Bartent drilenburgh, John Gill and this deponent.
To the third and fourth Interrogatories hee referreth himselfe to<br />
his foregoeing deposition and to that in the preparatorie where hee<br />
hath satisfied the same.
To the fifth hee saith that hee referreth himselfe to his foregoeing<br />
deposition, and otherwise cannot depose.
To the 6 hee hee saith the said feathers cost 6 stivers and a halfe<br />
per pound and soe they were bought, and that 51 cakes<br />
of the sayd rosin weighing 1136 pounds cost 40 gilders the<br />
thousand weight, as the same was bought, and 35 cakes<br />
more thereof weighing 4922 pounds, cost 40 gilders and 10 styvers<br />
the thousand, and the rest being 4100 pounds costs 42 gilders<br />
the thousand, And the said Turpentine cost 7 gilders the hundred.<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 7th negatively.
To the 8 hee saith that myn heer Gislinge hath 3 two and thirtith parts<br />
thisa deponent an eighth and 32th, Abraham van Pera and Cornelius<br />
Williamson each an eighth, hubrecht Brest myn heer van Acker, mr Ma[?XXX]<br />
John Gill, Bar[?XX] drilenbergh, Jussrow Bancker and John Thisen each a 16<br />
and every one of the reat a 32th.
