Middlesex Mariner, where he hath lived about five<br />
yeares since, aged about 30ty yeares a wittnes produced<br />
sworne and examined deposeth as followeth videlicet
To the first article of the said Libell and to the schedules or<br />
bills of Lading therin mentioned and to the said Libell annexed<br />
he deposeth and saith That the arlate Richard Slany was<br />
commonly accompted and reputed on board the shipp the ''George''<br />
of London Libellate, (of which said shipps Company this deponent<br />
was one) the true and lawfull Owner and Proprietot of<br />
ninety nine barrells of Raysins Solis mentioned<br />
in the first of the said schedules, And that the articulate<br />
Christopher Chappell was alsoe accompted and reputed the<br />
true and lawfull Owner and Proprietor of the thirty two<br />
barrells of Raysins Solis arlate and mentioned in the second<br />
schedule ofr bill of Lading annexed unto the said Libell, The<br />
premisses he knoweth being one of the shipp the ''George'' of<br />
London her Company, on board which shipp the arlate<br />
Raysins Solis were laden for the said Slanys and<br />
Chappells account, and to whom of for whose account of<br />
this deponents certaine knowledge (being Boateswaine)<br />
of the said shipp the ''George'') they were delivered at this<br />
port of London And further he cannot depose.
To the second and third articles of the said Libell he deposeth and<br />
saith that he this deponent being Boateswaine of the arlate<br />
shipp the ''George'' of London in her voyage from this Port<br />
to Malaga doth therfore very well and certainly know that<br />
the arlate Richard Stevens was Master of the said shipp and<br />
had the charge of her during the months Libellate and that<br />
within the said time videlicet in October, November and december<br />
last past the said Richard Stevens was with the said shipp<br />
at or neere Malaga, and that the arlate Raysins Solis and<br />
other goods schedulate mentioned in the first Bill of Lading arlate were there<br />
Laden aboard her for the sayd Richard Slanys accompt and<br />
and that the Raysins Solis and other goods schedulate and<br />
mentioned in the second Bill of lading arlate were there at<br />
Malaga laden aboard her for the arlate Christopher Chappell<br />
his Accompt, And he saith that he verily beleiveth the said<br />
two bills of Lading arlate are the true originall bills of Lading<br />
for the said goods for that now perusing them he saith that<br />
they are subscribed by the said Master, Richard Steevens with<br />
whose handwriting he is very well acquainted And further<br />
he deposeth not.
To the fourth, fifth, sixth, seaventh, eighth and ninth<br />
articles of the said Libell he deposeth and saith that the<br />
said barrells of Raysins Laden aboard the said shipp the ''George''<br />
