Transcription To the first and second articles of the saTo the first and second articles of the sayd allegation hee saith that<br /> in the yeare 1652 and moneths therein concurring the arlate Richard Thompson<br /> and John Solomon (both of which this deponent well knoweth and is<br /> acquainted with) were commonly accompted and reputed the true<br /> lawfull iynt and only Owners and Proprietors in equall parts of the arlate<br /> shipp the ''Love'' of London her tackle apparrell and furniture and of whatsoever<br /> freight or other profit should or did arise or growe due by the imployment of the sayd<br /> shipp and this deponent beleeveth them soe to be for that in the sayd yeare<br /> 1652 and this deponent beleeveth them soe to be for that in the sayd yeare<br /> 1652 (there being some difference betweene the sayd Thompson and Solomon<br /> about Accompts for freight and other things by reason of their ioynt imployment<br /> of the sayd shipp) this deponent and one Mr Beake were by the sayd parties<br /> chosen to arbitrate the sayd difference (but this deponent and the sayd Mr Beake never mett to make any aarbitration therein) as alsoe for that the sayd Thompson<br /> and Solomon as ioynt partners in the sayd vessell or shipp made two severall<br /> voyages that yeare 1652 to dunkirke or Ostend and brought home each<br /> voyage a ladeing of [?linge], which they both of them sold to this deponent<br /> and did ioyntly as partners receive the money due for the same of this deponent<br /> according to contract by them made And further to these articles hee<br /> cannot depose./ To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/ Repeated before all three Judges Richard Bentham [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE] ************************************ The 12th day of July <u>.1655:-</u>/ [CENTRE HEADING] Richard Rice and Company against the shipp the}<br /> ''Charity'' of which Robert harrigate was Master}<br /> and against George Grigg et cetera.
