Transcription arlate and there delivered to the ffactorsarlate and there delivered to the ffactors and Agents of the sayd<br /> Zollicoffers and Scrothering for their uses and hee saith that one hundred<br /> and twenty chests of the sayd soape (which was as aforesayd laden for the Accompt<br /> of the Zollicoffers aforesayd were consigned to be delivered to one Symon<br /> Vroling who as hee hath heard is a dutch merchant and their factor of Agent at haverdegrace, and the<br /> seaventy five chests for Accompt of the sayd Scrothering were consigned to be<br /> delivered to John Van Campen and one Marke Peterson who as hee hath heard are hamburger<br /> merchants and factors or Correspondents at haverdegrace for the sayd<br /> Scrothering, And hee saith hee verily beleeveth the sayd Zollicoffers and<br /> Scothering to bee the true and lawfull Owners and proprietors of the sayd<br /> one hundred nynty five chests of soape, for that hee this deponent being<br /> purser of the sayd shipp then did see the same laden aboard by their<br /> sayd ffactors and sawe henry Zollicoffer one of the sayd ffactors come<br /> aboard with the greatest parte of them and alsoe sawe many of the sayd chests of soape taken out of the sayd ffactors warehouses at Marselles and for that hee this deponent by direction of the sayd<br /> Henry entred them in his pursers booke as laden for the Accompt and<br /> adventure of the sayd Zollicoffers and Scrothering each particular parcell thereof<br /> in manner aforesayd with the severall markes of each parcell and<br /> to whome consigned to be delivered And further to these articles hee<br /> cannot depose./ To the 5th hee saith that hee hath credibly heard at Hamburgh and Marselles that the Zollicoffers arlate are of Saint Gallo arlate<br /> and subieects of the Protestant Cantons of Switzerland, and knoweth<br /> the arlate John Scrothering is a Senator of the Cittie of hamborough, and<br /> saith they are all (as hee beleeveth) in amity with this Commonwealth<br /> And he alsoe saith hee well knoweth for that hee was then purser and<br /> aboard the ''Switzer'' that shee was seized in the Streights by the ffleete<br /> of the arlate Generall Blake then in service of this Commonwealth, as shee<br /> was in her Course for haverdegrace, And well knoweth the sayd 195 chests<br /> of soape belonging to the sayd Zollicoffers and Scrothering, and much<br /> other goods belonging to other persons were then aboard the sayd shipp<br /> when shee was seized and came to the hands of the sayd seizors And<br /> further to this article hee cannot depose To the 6th hee saith the sayd Henerall Blakes ffleete seized the sayd<br /> ''Switzer'' and her sayd ladeing on or about the 22th day of Aprill last<br /> old style as shee was in her course to haverdegrace arlate And having soe seized<br /> her the sayd ffleete carried her out of her course to Algeirs, and stayed her<br /> at Gibraltar and alsoe at Cadiz by reason whereof shee came not to the<br /> Port of London soe soone as shee might have done by the space of two moneths<br /> this hee knoweth being Purser and aboard at her seuzure and continueing aboard till her comming<br /> to Londonard till her comming<br /> to London  +
