Transcription To the 2 article hee saith the arlate RichTo the 2 article hee saith the arlate Richard hammond the tyme<br /> arlate was Owner and Proprietor of the severall and respective parcells of<br /> beefe in the schedule arlate specifie, this hee knoweth for that hee<br /> being the sayd hammonds servant did see him in the quiet possession of them<br /> imediately before the respective tymes of the sale and delivery of them to the<br /> use of the shipp the ''Sisters'' aforesayd and her company And further saving<br /> his subsequent deposition hee cannot depose To the third 4th and 5th articles of the sayd libell hee saith and deposeth<br /> that the arlate Richard hamond did (by the order and appointment of<br /> the arlate Gregory Carye as this deponent verily beleeveth) cause to be<br /> delivered on board the arlate shipp the ''Sisters'' for the use and provision<br /> of the Company of the sayd shipp all the respective parcells of<br /> beefe schedulate at the severall prizes in the sayd schedule specified the premisses hee deposeth for that hee this deponent<br /> was assistant in the deliverie of every of the sayd respective parcells<br /> of beefe in the sayd schedule specified to the Company of<br /> the sayd shipp and helped to put the same on board the sayd shipps<br /> boate and enter the same and the prizes thereof into the sayd hamonds debt booke and hath alsoe heard the sayd Gregorie Carye since the buying<br /> and delivery of the sayd respective parcells of beefe confesse and<br /> acknowledge that hee had receaved the sayd respective parcells of beefe on<br /> board the sayd Shipp the ''Sisters'' for the use and provision of the same<br /> and of the Mariners thereof, and well knoweth that the sayd<br /> Carye was acquainted with and knew the prizes entered in the sayd booke<br /> for the sayd beefe, and did approve thereof, and did before this deponent<br /> acknowledge that the sayd prizes were according to the bargains made<br /> by him the sayd Carye with the sayd hammond for the same And<br /> hee this deponent verily beleeveth the respective parcells of beefe in the<br /> sayd schedule conteyned at the respective tymes of their deliverie<br /> were really worth and were ususally sold about London<br /> at the severall prizes in the sayd schedule specified And further to these<br /> articles hee cannot depose not being present at such very tymes as the sayd<br /> hammond and Carye drove their bargaines about the sayd beefe./ To the 6th article hee saith hee referreth him selfe to the Registrie of<br /> this Court and further cannot depose/ To the 7th hee saith hee beleeveth the arlate Richard hamond is damnified<br /> to the value of twenty pounds sterling or thereabouts, (over and above his principall<br /> moneyand above his principall<br /> money  +
