Jury London Merchant, aged 24 yeares of thereabouts<br />
sworne and examined.
To the eighth article of the said allegation and the schedules therein<br />
mentioned were showne unto him hee saith that one of the bills<br />
of lading arlate for the galls is for three hundred and twenty<br />
baggs or sacks of galls, which said 320 baggs according to the<br />
Invoice for the same (being one of the Invoices arlate) containe<br />
neate Turkish weight twenty thousand, one hundred and fourtie<br />
nine Rotolo's, and the other of the aforesaid bills of lading is for<br />
150 sacks or baggs of galls, which containe according to the Invoice<br />
of Turkish weight neate 10241 Rotolo's, soe that the said<br />
470 baggs of galls mentioned in the said two bills of lading contained<br />
30390 Rotolos, which hee knoweth having seene the said bills<br />
and Invoices and cast the same up, hee this deponent keeping<br />
the accompts in the matters in question for the producents, And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the tenth article hee saiith that the cottons nor galls aforesaid<br />
nor any part thereof were delivered by George hughes ar London<br />
but at Porto fferrari or Ligorne, which hee knoweth by the<br />
letters written betwixt Alderman ffrederick and George Norleigh<br />
arlate which this deponent hath seene and perused. And otherwise<br />
hee cannot depose.
To the 18th article and the second schedule annexed (beginning and<br />
ending as is arlate) nowe showed unto him, hee saith hee<br />
verily beleeveth the sae to be a true copie of the originall<br />
thereof, because the same (as hee saith) was sent by Mr Norleigh<br />
and company to Alderman ffrederick and company from Ligorne as<br />
and for a true copie, and soe mentioned in their letters which this deponent<br />
hath seene. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 20th article hee saith and deposeth that by the letters that<br />
passed bbetweene the persons aforesaid hee knoweth that George<br />
hughes or some by appointment did refuse to deliver the<br />
goods according to the owners orders to George Norleigh and company<br />
and endeavoured to take up [?money] on the same goods, and that the<br />
money mentioned in this article was paid and made good to Northleigh<br />
and company upon accompt betwixt the said Alderman<br />
ffrederick and company and Norleigh and company, and Norleigh<br />
did advise in his letters that hee, the said hughes had procured a sentence to put<br />
the goods into a depatato's hands, which hee the said Norleigh<br />
and company opposed. And saith that the noate arlate<br />
(beginning and ending as is arlate and being the third annexed) nowe showne unto him, is<br />
the same that was received from the said Norleigh and company<br />
by Alderman ffrederick and company, which hee knoweth for<br />
