Transcription [ALL TEXT ON PAGE IS CROSSED OUT] That in[ALL TEXT ON PAGE IS CROSSED OUT] That in the moneth of October last the said John hart in this<br /> port of London laded aboard the said shipp the ''Cock'' to be therein transported<br /> for dublin in Ireland for the proper accompt of the said John hart nine<br /> and twenty butts and foure pipes of Spanish wine, and consigned them to<br /> be delivered at dublin to Adam Gold and to this deponent for the foresaid<br /> accompt of the said John hart; And saith that the said shipp in her course of<br /> proceeding in the said voyage for dublin, comming off the English lands<br /> end was on or about the second day of January last met with by a<br /> Brest man of warr and with the said goods (saving halfe a butt that was leaked out) and all other her lading seized<br /> and carried into Brest, where the same were confiscated, and soe the<br /> said wines were and are utterly lost to the said Mr hart, all which hee<br /> knoweth seeing the lading of the said goods by the said Mr hart as aforesaid,<br /> and going along with them in the said shipp and seeing the said seizure<br /> and carrying into Brest, and losse as aforesaid. And saith the<br /> said wines were then worth here 20 ''li'' per pipe, which for all the<br /> parcell amounts to 650 ''li'' sterling, but at dublin the said wine would<br /> have yeelded 30 ''li'' per pipe or more, besides [?her] cost to the valew of fifteene<br /> pounds sterling in the clothes and necessaries of this deponent who is<br /> his apprentice. And further that the said John hart had and was<br /> owner of a quarter part of the said shipp, of this deponents knowledge<br /> seeing the money (for which the said part was bought) paid oon the said Mr harts<br /> behalfe, being 87 ''li'' sterling; which 87 ''li'' hee saith hee this deponent<br /> by order and for accompt of his said master paid for the said quarter<br /> part, And saith the said quarter part of the said shipp was and<br /> is alsoe lost to the said Mr hart by the said seizure.
