aged 35 yeeres or thereabouts sworne and<br />
examined.

To the first, second and third Interrogatories hee saith and deposeth that<br />
this deponent being his precontest Mr Boones Packer, was imployed<br />
by him to goe to a warehouse at Porters key and<br />
there to looke upon certaine goods that were taken out of the shipp the ''hare in''<br />
''the feild'' and ordered to be restored, and were in the custody of the Prize<br />
officers, to whom this deponent was to open the packs and showe them<br />
they were the same goods that were ordered by this Court to be restored<br />
and amongst other goods that this deponent was to looke upon and open<br />
there were seaven small boxes or packs of goods marked and numbred as in the<br />
margent; which packs according to the Invoice thereof (which was showed
[MARKE, LH MARGIN]
to this deponent) contained 26 peeces of gold and silver Mohaire,<br />
otherwise ffrench watered tabbies of gold and silver. But saith<br />
that comming to view them there could be but 6 of the said seaven<br />
small packs or boxes found, (and those six that were soe found, had bin<br />
opened and some peeces taken out of them.) and that theseaventh was<br />
wholly wanting and lost. And saith that hee took one and [?counted]<br />
the peeces that were remaining in the said six packs, which hee<br />
saith were fourteene peeces and noe more, and that the [XXX XXXX]<br />
peeces were by the losse of the said pack, and by what had bin<br />
taken out of the six, wholly wanting and lost; and further<br />
that the said twelve peeces soe wanting and lost ([?respect ?being GUTTER]<br />
had to the said Invoice, and to the 14 peeces that were remaining) worth<br />
the summe of two hundred and sixtie pounds sterling. And<br />
otherwise hee cannot depose.
