Transcription Tompson arlate went alsoe ashore, and wentTompson arlate went alsoe ashore, and went and came severall times<br /> to and from shore, and at length came aboard and said they had order to goe to<br /> ligorne with the said shipp, and accordingly hee saith they went thither, and<br /> there safely arived with her, where hee saith they repaired to mr Norleigh<br /> and mr Constable, all which hee knoweth going from place to place in the said<br /> shipp whereof hee was boatswaine; and saith the said Captaine [?Crampe]<br /> (as hee reported and said to this deponent and others of the company) was told by<br /> mr Norleigh and mr Constable that they had noe goods nor imployment<br /> for the said shipp, and therefore wished him to retourne for England. And<br /> soe hee saith the said Cramp and company (after about five or sixe dayes stay<br /> at ligorne) sailed her for England, and here arived with her on the<br /> eleaventh of Aprill last, and that the last of the said shipps homward<br /> lading was dispatched in this port on the seaventeenth of May 1656,<br /> all which hee knoweth being present and seeing the same soe donne. And<br /> otherwise hee cannot depose. To the tenth hee cannot depose saving as aforesaid. To the eleaventh hee saith that the said shipp the ''George Bonadventure''<br /> the voyage aforesaid was and remained in the service and imployment of<br /> the said George ffarrington from the tenth of december 1654 untill the<br /> 17th of May 1656, during all which time the said John Crampe was<br /> and remained in the service of the said mr ffarrington, and well deserved<br /> six pounds per moneth for his said service, and that the arlate<br /> Samuel Swan servant of the said Cramp served about foure monethes<br /> in the said shipp and then went away at Zant, and well deserved 25 ''s''<br /> per moneth for the said time of his service, and that Austin<br /> Petty arlate who served in her about twelve monethes and a halfe<br /> (and then went away at Plimouth) and was the said Crampes servant)<br /> well deserved for his said service thirtie shillings per moneth, And<br /> otherwise hee cannot depose. To the twelveth hee saith that there is due to the said Crampe<br /> and the rest of his company of mariners for the primage and<br /> average of goods carried out the said voyage in the said shipp from<br /> England to Zant the summe of sixteene pounds and five shillings<br /> lawfull money of England- To the thirteenth hee saith that the factors of the said ffarington<br /> the said voyage caused many gunns to be dischardged by way of<br /> salutations and festivities, whereby hee saith a good quantitie of<br /> powder was spent, but howe many barrells hee knoweth not.<br /> And otherwise hee cannot depose.
