Transcription To the 6th hee saith the shipp InterrogateTo the 6th hee saith the shipp Interrogate and her ladeing were seized<br /> in the beginning of February 1654 at the Barbados by order<br /> and authority of the Commissioners aforesayd and the sayd shipp and<br /> ladeing disposed by their order for the use and service of this Commonwealth<br /> and was seized as shee was rideing at Anchor there not by any<br /> shipp but only by an order from the Commissioners, (the fleete of this<br /> Commonwealth, being all rideing neere her at Anchor) And further<br /> hee cannot depose/ To the 7th hee saith hee knoweth not how long the ''Strong Rowland'' had<br /> bin at the Barbados before her seizure, but beleeveth by the ladeing of<br /> her outwards Cargo and the lade qualitie of the ladeing found in<br /> her hold shee must needes have bin there some considerable<br /> tyme and further saving his foregoing deposition hee cannot answere To the 8th hee saith the Governours name was daniel Searle and<br /> never heard of any such licence as is Interrogate/ To the 9th hee saith hee was one who did assiste in the seizure of<br /> the ''Strong Rowland'' and her ladeing being employed thereto by the<br /> Commissioners aforesayd and ordered by them to take an Inventary<br /> as aforesayd and hath had noe share or part of the sayd shipp<br /> or ladeing nor expecteth any thereof/ To the last hee saith hee hath satisfied the contents thereof<br /> before soe farr as hee can./ Repeated before doctor Godolphin Will Poole [SIGNATURE, RH SIDE] ************************** The 28th of November 1656 Beniamin Gifford and Michaell Cooper Owners}<br /> of the shipp the ''Mary'' (whereof the sayd}<br /> Michaell Cooper was Master) against a certayne}<br /> shipp called the ''Saint Jacob'' (whereof George}<br /> Kennett was Master) and againest the sayd}<br /> George Kennett and Company Owners of}<br /> the sayd shipp the ''Saint Jacob'' comming in for}<br /> their interest: Francklin Smith} '''sol to Mr Arnold''' '''Rp EA.'''
