Transcription seventeenth day of September, now last passeventeenth day of September, now last past, And that the said<br /> ship in that time made severall Ports, and places, and delivered<br /> out and tooke in severall Merchandizes and goods, And that<br /> the Lading now in question, was, most part of it put aboard at<br /> Santa Cruze, And that in the passage from Santa Cruze for Amsterdam<br /> shee was with her Lading, surprized and takenm by one of the<br /> ffrigotts in the service of this Comonwealth, And saith that the<br /> said Marriners served in the said shipp at the time mentioned<br /> and Expressed in the said schedule, And that the severall<br /> summes of Money schedulated are respectively due into them<br /> And ought to be payd unto them for such their service, All<br /> which hee knoweth because hee was Boatswaine of the said ship<br /> all the said time, and still, in the said ship, And acquainted<br /> with the Hiring and serving of the rest of the Mariners, at the<br /> Rates, and wages, And further that the said Claus Williamson<br /> was Master of the said shipp and was soe put Master of her by the owners<br /> of the same, And served in her all the said time, and still is<br /> Master of her, And this deponent hath often heard him say hee was<br /> to have 60 Guelders per moneth. Pay for his service therein, and<br /> soe much hee saith hee well deserveth, that being very ordinary<br /> Pay for a Master of such a voyage, And otherwise hee cannot<br /> depose To the Interrogatories:/. [CENTRE HEADING] To the ffirst hee saith that all the said Company was hired by<br /> the said Mr Claus Williamson to serve and goe in the said shipp<br /> at the said Rates, and entered their names accordingly in his<br /> Booke, together with their Wages, And that some of them were shipped<br /> three or foure dayes sooner than the other, But hee saith that their<br /> Entring into pay was all at once, namely on the said 17th day<br /> of May 1656: new stil, being the day, in which the ship set saile<br /> And otherwise (referring himselfe to his foregoeing deposition) hee<br /> cannot Answer, To the second hee saith, that hee was not present at the hiring of<br /> all the said Mariners being when they were under saile they<br /> all declared to each other their wages to bee after the rates<br /> aforesaid, And the Master acknowledged, the same, And saith they<br /> were hired by the Moneth, And not otherwise, And otherwise hee<br /> cannot Answer saving as aforesaid.
