the present warr brake out betwixt England … the present warr brake out betwixt England and Spaine namely in<br />
or about the moneth of October 1655 the said Nicholas Warren and<br />
the rest of the persons aforesaid were owners of, and had in the Canarie<br />
Islands goods merchandizes and effects amounting to the severall summes<br />
mentioned and expressed in the schedule annexed to the said Interrogatories, all<br />
which were in or about the said moneth seized on by the officers of<br />
the king of Spaine, and the said Nicholas Warren and all other persons<br />
aforesaid utterly deprived thereof, whereby they sustained<br />
losse the severall summes mentioned in the said schedule, amounting in<br />
all to the summe of two hundred thirtie nine thousand seaven hundred<br />
thirty six Rialls, and in sterling money to five thousand, nine hundred<br />
ninetie three pounds eight shillings and one penny, besides ˹losse of˺ the<br />
proffit the same might have produced in retournes for England.<br />
All which hee knoweth being with his precontest William Lee<br />
factor for the said persons at the said Islands, and particulaly<br />
acquainted with the said goods (consisting tof the most part in wines)<br />
and effects, and with the said seizure by the said kings officers,<br />
and depriving thereby the said owners thereof.

or thereabouts sworne and exámined as aforesaid.
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith hee well knoweth the interrate<br />
Nicholas Warren, John Bancks, John Heringer, George Toriano,<br />
Richard Westcombe, Walter Tuckfeild, William Lea, George Lea<br />
and George Webber, and saith they were and are all English men and<br />
merchants and subiects of this Commonwealth and for such commonly<br />
áccompted.
To the second ánd third Interrogatories and schedule or account in the<br />
third Interrogatorie mentioned and annexed, hee saith and deposeth that<br />
in the moneth of October 1655 and when the warr broke out betwixt<br />
England and Spaine, the said Nicholas Warren and the rest of the<br />
said persons [XXXd] and were owners and proprietors of wines and<br />
other merchandizes and effects on the Canary islands amounting to the<br />
severall summes mentioned in the said schedules, and that upon in that<br />
said moneth all the said goods, merchandizes and effects were seized<br />
by the officers of the king of Spaine, and the said Mr Warren and<br />
other persons aforesaid deprived thereof, whereby they have sustained<br />
losse to the summes comprized in the said schedule, amounting in all<br />
in Sterling money to the summe of five thousand, nine hundred, ninetIe<br />
three pounds eight shillings and one penny, besides the losse of the<br />
