Transcription of Proceeding thitherward shee and her ladof Proceeding thitherward shee and her lading of goods aboard her<br /> were met with set upon and seized by an Oastend man of warr<br /> and by them Carryed as Prize to Grina in the Spanish<br /> Dominions And saith shee was soe seized of off Lewes Ile; on<br /> the back side of Scotland on or about the 5th of August last<br /> The Premisses hee deposeth being a fforemast man of, and<br /> aboard the said ship at the time of the seizure, and sawe<br /> the Premisses acted and done as aforesaid. To the 3d and 4th Interrogatories hee saith hee well knoweth the said John Broughton and<br /> John Abbot the Master of the said Shipp which Broughton and Abbot (had in<br /> her at<br /> the time of her Seizure for their owne account (as this deponent hath heard and verily beleeveth) Part of the Lading aboard her<br /> namely according to their Parts in the shipp, which<br /> Lading hee saith consisted of Slatts, Pipestaves, Wooll, woollen<br /> Cloth Leather, and a good parcell of money which was for the<br /> ships Stock (but howe much hee knoweth not) And saith<br /> they said goods were bought by the said John Abbot at Carrickevegus<br /> and there Laden aboard the said shipp, to be carryed to<br /> Drunton aforesaid, and there to be sold upon and for<br /> the account of the said Broughton and Abbott and Company and<br /> every one of the ships owners was to have had according to theire parts in the<br /> ship as aforesaid. And that the said Broughton was owner<br /> of five sixteenth parts, and the said Abbot of six 16th parts<br /> of the said ship and of her tackle and furniture (as<br /> by the bills of Sale which this deponent hath seene appeareth)<br /> at the time of the said seizure, Which Parts of the said<br /> Shipp and Lading, were and are Utterly lost to the said John Broughton and<br /> John Abbot by meanes of the surprizall aforesaid The<br /> Premisses hee knoweth for the reasons aforesaid, And<br /> otherwise hee cannot Answer:/.
