the said shipp became leake and received a … the said shipp became leake and received and shipped abundance of sea water and was ready<br />
to sinke, Whereupon theise deponents and the rest of the said company<br />
for the saving of their lives and the said shipp and goods, were enforced<br />
to stave and did stave and breake abroad in the hold of the said shipp<br />
foure butss of wine lying uppermost and neerest to hand, towards<br />
the shipps lightening, and were likewise enfrced to cast off their shipps<br />
boate and let her fall into the sea, by which shee is lost; And further<br />
that the said dammage came and was occasioned meerly by the<br />
said storme and casualtie of the sea, and not by any insufficiencie in<br />
the shipp of fault in the master or company or any of them. And<br />
lastly that in and by occasion of the said storme the said shipp lost two<br />
of her anchors one whereof was washt away from her bough, and that<br />
they theise deponents and the rest of the company were alsoe forced<br />
to heave over board towards the said shipps lightening in the said storme<br />
for saving of their lives shipp and goods. And they say that if any of the goods<br />
are damnified the same happened by the said storme and [XXXXX ?wether] and<br />
not otherwise.
