Transcription To the first article hee saith that the arTo the first article hee saith that the arlate William Keeble since deceased was in<br /> the moneths and tyme arlate in the yeare 1656 master of the arlate shipp<br /> the ''Elizabeth and dorothy'' and did execute the place and office of Master of her<br /> the voyage in question soe long as hee therein lived, and for master of her<br /> was Commonly reputed this hee knoweth being one of the sayd shipps company<br /> the sayd voyage And saith hee knoweth being one of the sayd shipps company<br /> the sayd voyage And saith (as hee verily beleeveth the sayd Keeble was constituted<br /> Master by the arlate Yarwood and other the Owners of the sayd shipp and executed<br /> this sayd place with their consent./ To the 2 hee saith hee being one of her company as aforesayd thereby knoweth<br /> that the sayd Sandford and Company whose names are mentioned in the<br /> schedule arlate now read to him at this his examination did all serve in the<br /> sayd shipp the voyage in question in the severall places and<br /> qualities theire in mentioned and beleeveth they were shipped to serve<br /> in her (as this deponent well knoweth hee him selfe was) by the arlate Mr<br /> Keeble and his mate William Blunt who was also a part Owner of the<br /> sayd shipp, and saith hee this deponent being a foremast man was hyred<br /> at thirty three shillings a moneth for the sayd voyage which was to bee<br /> from London to Ireland and thense to ffrance, and thense back to Ireland<br /> and thense back to ffrance and thense back to London where the voyage was<br /> to end, but at what rates the persons schedulate were hyred hee knoweth<br /> not for that hee was not present at their hyreing And further saveing his<br /> subsequent deposition hee cannot depose/ To the 3 article of the sayd allegation hee saith that hee was one of<br /> the shipps Company as aforesayd hee knoweth that the arlate Sandford<br /> and the rest of the Mariners in the sayd schedule mentioned (except the<br /> John Cooper who was shipped about tenn dayes after at Portsmouth)<br /> did togeather with this deponent enter into whole pay at Gravesend in the<br /> sixteenth of October 1656 on which day shee sett sayle thense bound<br /> for Waxford in Ireland, and by the way at Portsmouth about tenn dayes after<br /> her departure from Gravesend shipped the sayd John Cooper and thense went<br /> with her ladeing to Waxford where shee safely arrived and discharged<br /> her ladeing and tooke in other ladeing ther and went with that safe to<br /> Nants in ffrance and there made a full discharge thereof about the latter<br /> end of ffebruary last 1656 and there tooke in other goods and sett sayle<br /> thense therewith bound for Corke in Ireland, but in her course thitherward<br /> was sett upon by a dunkirke man of warr and after a fight whereein the<br /> Master and the arlate Lindsey were slayne and fower or five more of the<br /> sayd shipps company wounded) shee was taken upon the thirteenth or March last 1656. and being soe seized the<br /> dunkirker tooke this deponent and his precontest John Worke and the<br /> arlate Sandford, and John Renfeild henry Kenyon William Abbott daniell<br /> Oadwell and John Cooper in the sayd schedule named and George Greene the [XXXX GUTTER]<br /> and Amos ffoard and haniball Jennings out of the sayd shipp and put<br /> them aboard his man of warr and put others of his man of warrs<br /> Companyrs of his man of warrs<br /> Company  +
