moneths hee cannot estimate And further hee cannot depose/
To the 27th article hee saith hee verily beleeveth and is perswaded in his<br />
conscience that in case the ship ''Peace'' had arrived at the Barbados<br />
being the place whether shee was bound the sayd Woods might there speedily<br />
have sold her ladeing of fish and goods while the same had bin sound<br />
and well conditioned and might have made quicker returnes thence to London<br />
by some moneths soonere than shee did whereas hee saith that of his<br />
knowledge about three thousand weight of the sayd shipps ladeing<br />
of ffish was by keepeing the same soe longe aboard as it was kept<br />
soe damnified that it was heaved over board as worth nothing And<br />
further hee cannot depose./
To the 28th article hee saith that beside the losse the sayd Woods susteyned<br />
by the says shipps being longer out upon the voyage in question than shee<br />
needed to have bin if shee had made her designed Port of the Barbados<br />
(for which tyme hee hath had or is to pay freight) hee beleeveth that the<br />
sayd Woods did susteyne losse in his sale of his three eighth parts of<br />
the sayd shipps ladeing of ffish and other goods which as hee beleeveth did<br />
amount to a considerable summe of money but what to value the same<br />
losse at hee knoweth not And further hee cannot depose/
To the 29th hee saith saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot depose/
To the 30th hee saiith that the shipp ''Peace'' was of this deponents Judgment<br />
of the burthen of two hundred tonnes or better and hee well knoweth<br />
being boatswaine and therefore takeing notice of all her ladeing in his books<br />
that shee came home about halfe dead freighted soe that the arlate<br />
Luke Woods beside the dammage hee susteyned in the sale of his three<br />
eighth parts of the sayd shipps ladeing of fish and other goods did in this<br />
deponents Judgment and estimate suffer losse and dammage in the sayd<br />
shipps want of ladeing home to the value of two hundred pounds<br />
sterling and upwards And further hee cannot depose./
To the 31th article hee saith that the monethly wages of the Master and<br />
Mariners of the ''Peace'' and the victualls and provisions by them monthly<br />
spent during the voyage in question did amount to a very considerable<br />
some of money but what to value the same at hee knoweth<br />
not And further cannot depose/
To the 32th article hee saith that at Nevis hee this deponent heard by the<br />
report of severall of the Inhabitants there that the Governour of the<br />
sayd Island and alsoe one Captaine Menton who was and is an<br />
[?eminent] Planter there and is since come over into England would have<br />
laded a very considerable quantitie of goods thence aboard the sayd shipp the<br />
''Peace'' but were deterred and hindered from soe doeing for that they<br />
had both heard of and seene the refractory and disobedient and uncivill carriage<br />
