Transcription of the Trade as aforesd Which were alsoe tof the Trade as aforesd Which were alsoe the occasion<br /> of the said ship ''Peace'' her Coming home dead<br /> ffreighted. And the said Grove was not the<br /> Cause of it, The Premisses hee deposeth being at<br /> Nevis the said time, and Continueing Masters Mate<br /> of the said Ship, during her full Voyage And further<br /> hee cannot depose./. To the 14th hee saith that one<br /> Captaine Lymbrey would at Nevis have hyred part<br /> of the said Ship of the said Wood as the said Limbry hath affirmed in<br /> this Deponents Hearing. and the said Limbry, (as this<br /> deponent hath heard) advised the said Wood to sayle<br /> to the Barbadoes, with the said Ship ''Peace''. but the said<br /> Wood would not, nor did soe doe, And further cannot depose./. To the 15th hee saith that the said Grove did Lade on board<br /> the said Ship at Newfound Land about six hogsheads<br /> of Traine Oyle, which was there stowed inn the Lazaretto<br /> or the forePeeke of the said Ship, and there Continued<br /> untill it was unladen at Nevis, and saith that<br /> the said Oyles were not Laden over the merchants Goods, but<br /> saith that a Little oyle did Leake out of the Caskes<br /> and runne upon the Deck, and fall threwe in to the<br /> hold of the said Ship, but did bit dammage above<br /> one hundred pound weight of the said ffish. of this deponents<br /> Certaine Knowledge, which said ffish soe damnifyed<br /> was (to prevent damage. which might have happen<br /> the other fish was not thereby damnifyed) throwne<br /> overboard into the sea, And further cannot depose To the 16.th hee saith that for the reasons aforesaid<br /> hee well knoweth that for and during all the<br /> Voyage in Question the said Thomas Grove did<br /> doe his Duty and use what meanes hee could<br /> to dispatch the said Ship the said Voyage, and to<br /> receive in and deliver out, the said ffish, and<br /> did not arrive with his said Ship at the Island of Barbadoes<br /> by Reason of the said Stormes and hurricanoes<br /> And Contrary Wind and Weather, and the Conduct<br /> of the said Wood to the Contrary, And saith that the said<br /> Wood at Nevis, told this deponent that hee the said Wood<br /> had Receaved a Letter from, his Correspondent at Barbadoes, that fish<br /> their would yeild but halfe a pound Weight of<br /> Sugar, and that hee the said Correspondent. had<br /> sold all the said Woods ffish brought in the ''Peece'', at that<br /> rate, and therefore desired the said Wood to come [XXX GUTTER]<br /> his Wood to come [XXX GUTTER]<br /> his  +
