by that meanes. before wee could recover our ship, we<br />
fell foule of Mr Halls; And this deponent having heard the<br />
said word or words to the same effect. hee was Called<br />
away upon other occasions, and left the said Tyler discours[ing GUTTER]<br />
and others, ffurther discoursing about the said busines:<br />
And further deposeth that on Tuesday, last hee this<br />
deponent went to Mr Hall the producents house, to discourse<br />
with him. (hee this deponent. being his neighbour and using alsoe the Newcastle<br />
Trade;) and there found one whose name (as this deponent<br />
now remembreth ) was John Bathoe, who told Mr Hall,<br />
in this deponents presence; and hearing, that the ship ''Abigail'' bore<br />
up from . the South East to the North East. And said alsoe<br />
that had hee the said Bathoe found any thing in<br />
his way hee would have taken it up and ?nocked the<br />
man on the Head that was att the Helme: for being<br />
soe Crosse in putting the helme soe much on Starboard, and leaving<br />
it soe; or to that effect, and saith hee beleeveth the said<br />
Hall, and Bathoe, had had discourse before this deponents<br />
coming into the said Mr Halls house about the said Business<br />
The premisses hee deposeth hearing the same as aforesaid and<br />
further hee cannot depose/:

To the first hee saith that Mr Hall the producent required<br />
him to come and Testify in this Cause; and to the rest hee<br />
referrs himselfe to his foregoeing deposition: And further<br />

To the second hee saith hee hath used the sea for about<br />
Eighteene yeeres last, and about six yeeres last hath bin<br />
a Master of a ship; And saith hee knoweth not what he<br />
is worth, and further cannot answer/.

To the first hee saith as aforesaid that hee went from Gravesend<br />

was Master of the said ship) this deponent became Master of her, hee<br />
being before: the said Wm Malims Cheife mate; And for<br />
that hee received at Satalia, of the sayd William Malim twenty<br />
Eight ryalls of Eight, and at Scanderoone hee received of the said Malim either Eight<br />
or tenne Ryalls more (but, whether eight or Tenne he<br />
