In the name of God Amen
The Tenth day of August d[?iu] One Thousand Six Hundred
Eighty Six in the second yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord
James the second by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and
Ireland king defender of the ffaith etcetera I Robert Richbell of the Towne
and County of Southampton Merchant (thanks be to God) being of sound
and perfect mind and memory doe make this my last Will and Testament
in manner and forme following hereby revokeing all former Will or Wills
by me at any time heretofore in writing or by word of mouth
Imprimis
I bequeath my soule to God that made it and my body I committ to the
earth to be decently interred in the same grave where my wife was buryed
in Saint Lawrence parish in Southampton trusting through the meritts of
Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour to enjoy eternall happinesse when this
life is ended In the next place tis my expresse order and charge to my
Executrix hereafter named and my command to my sonnes to see all my
just debts fully wholly and clearly satisfyed and paid whereabout if
any dispute difference or contest doth arise I had rather my children
should suffer then my Creditors although I hope nothing of that nature
shall fall to either
Item I give and bequeath into the poore of Southampton
ffive pounds to be distributed among them the next day after my ffunerall
at the discretion of my Executrix and Overseers of this my Will or such
of them as shall be present
