Biographical synthesis

Thomas Yeomans (b. ca. 1636; d. ?). Mariner.

"Hee was mate and purser of the said ship the Peace the voyage in question".[1]

Resident in 1659 in Wapping.

Evidence from High Court of Admiralty

Twenty-three year old Thomas Yeomans deposed on March 11th 1659 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on a libel in the cause of "Wood against Grove".

Thomas Yeomans was able to reproduce the dates of the voyage with great accuracy and certainty, "being one of the sayd Groves mates and alsoe purser of the sayd shipp during the sayd voyage, and keeping a journall of the tyme of her departure upon the sayd voyage and of her returne to London".[2]
