Transcription To the third he saith that he knoweth not To the third he saith that he knoweth not John Baptista Stayne, saying <br /> it is only a borrowed or feigned name as he hath deposed. And further<br /> cannot depose. To the fourth he saith that Lorenzo de Veles is by birth a Duinkerker and by <br /> habitation of Cadize in Spaine. And the sayd Hannekaert is an Inhabitant <br /> of Antwerpe as this deponent hath hearde. And John Baptista Stayn is a feigned <br /> name as aforesayd. And otherwise he cannot depose. To the fifth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo laded the sayd money himselfe, and the <br /> Captaine or master of the shipp Christian Cloppenbergh received the same <br /> aboard in the daytyme. And further he cannot depose. To the sixth he saith that he saw the sayd Cloppenbergh Master of the ''Salvador''<br /> signe the bills of lading as he hath predeposed about the begginning of October <br /> aboard the sayd shipp. and othorwise he cannot depose. To the Seventh he saith he cannot depose. To the eight he saith that the sayd money now claymed was laden by Lorenzo <br /> de veles himselfe, and the name of John Baptista Staine was and is mentioned<br /> in the Bill for a Color onely and not otherwise. And furthur he cannot depose. To the nynth he cannot depose of his knowledge, but beleiveth that noe such <br /> bills or memorandums as are here in this Interrogatory suggested were signed <br /> made or taken by the sayd Master Cloppenbergh or his Purser or any other<br /> And further cannot depose. To the tenth negatively. To the eleventh he saith that the sayd Lorenzo da veles when he laded the sayd <br /> money told the Master of the sayd shipp that he laded the sayd moneyes upon <br /> and for the respectively accompts formerly deposed, and so much this Rendent <br /> hath heard the sayd Christian Cloppenbergh acknowledge. And further he <br /> cannot depose. To the tweltfth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo da veles laded twenty of the said <br /> baggs himselfe for his owne Accompt, and believed that he had authority <br /> given him by the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert to lade their money <br /> for their owne Accompt And further he cannot depose. To the thirteenth he saith, that the sayd Lorenzo da veles as he has predeposed<br /> bought the money now claymed with plate and money of Mexico brought from the <br /> Indies, and saith that att the buying thereof the sayd Lorenzo declared that part <br /> of the same videlicet the quantity of eight hundred pieses of eight more for the <br /> Accompt of the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaert. And futher he cannot <br /> depose. To the fourteenth he Saith that the sayd Lorenzo develus att the lading of the <br /> sayd money told this deponent that he laded the same videlicet twenty baggs thereof<br /> for his owne Accompt and perill. and four baggs thereof att the perill and <br /> for the Accompt of the sayd Hannekaerts To the fifteenth he saith that he this Rendent was borne att Valladolid in Spaine and hath his dwelling att <br /> Peru in the west Indies and saith he is noe way concerned in the money now claym[ed] <br /> by way of property ensureance or any other way. nor is he any way concerned in <br /> the losse or restitution thereof. And otherwise he cannot depose. To the sixteenth seventeenth eighteenth and ninetenth Interrogatories he saith <br /> he cannot depose. To the twentyeth negatively.
