Transcription To the nynth he deposeth that he neyther kTo the nynth he deposeth that he neyther knoweth nor beleiveth any []<br /> Contents of this Iterrogatorie. And further saith not. To the tenth he [doth] say that he knoweth not or beleiveth any the Conte[nts]<br /> of this Interrogatory but saith that he is fully convinced in his conscien[ce]<br /> that the sylver now claymed doth belong to the producent and to noe o[ther]<br /> person in the world. And further he cannot depose. To the eleventh he saith that before the lading, att the lading and since the <br /> lading of the sayd sylver the sayd Antonio de Ponte did acquaint th[is]<br /> deponent that the sayd sylver was his owne and for his Accompt and att h[is]<br /> hazard laden and to be transported to Ostend aforesayd. And otherwise he ca[nnot]<br /> depose. To the twelfth he saith that this Rendents father was a Spaniard, and he th[is]<br /> Rendent was borne at duinkerk, and hath for theis eighteene yeeres<br /> upwards lived att Cadiz aforesayd where he hath his family. and saith<br /> he hath noe interest in the sylver now Claymed by way of property ensurance<br /> or any other way whatsoever, neither will the restitution thereof be any<br /> benefit or advantage to this Rendent and otherwise he cannot depose. To the thirteenth, fourteenth fifteenth and sixteenth he saith he cann[ot]<br /> depose. To the seventeenth he saith that he this Rendent saw the Interrate Pedro<br /> Campo signe two other bills of lading of the same tenor of the Bill<br /> to the allegation annexed, and the same were delivered to the afores[ayd]<br /> Don Antonio de Ponte. To the eighteenth he saith that he knoweth that the Bill of lading Inter[rate]<br /> was an is one the the three bills signed by the sayd Pedro de Campo<br /> the bay of Cadiz and knoweth it so to be by the firme of the sayd Ped[ro?]<br /> att the foot thereof and saith he saw it signed in the bay of Cadiz<br /> as he hath predeposed. And otherwise he cannot depose. To the nyneteeth this Rendent saith that the sayd Antonio de Ponte [brought?]<br /> the bill of lading interrate in his owne Custody from Cadize aforesayd<br /> to this Citty this deponent haveing seene it in his the producents ha[]<br /> both att sea before the seizure, and thene likewise att London after his arriv[al]<br /> there. And further he knoweth not to depose. To the twentyeth he saith that the Interrate Antonio de Ponte ca[me]<br /> from Spaine in the sayd shipp ''Sampson'' and was aboard her att the tym[e]<br /> of her seizure. And further he cannot depose. To the one and twentyeth he saith that the producent receyved from the<br /> Pedro de Campo three bills of lading of the same tenor abord the shipp<br /> ''Sampson'' aforesayd, and delivered [none] of them back againe to him but []<br /> one of them himselfe which he brought along with him. left one of [them]<br /> in Spayne, and sent the third by hand into fflanders and otherwise he []<br /> depose. To the two and twentyethe he saith that the sylver interrate brought f[rom]<br /> the West Indies in the shipp the ''St John Baptista'' [whereof] John Ser[icho]<br /> was Captaine or Master as he hath predeposed, and otherwise to this inter[rogatorie?]<br /> he cannot depose. To the three and twentyeth he saith that the sylver Interrate was laden<br /> aboard the ''Sampson'' in the month of August 1652 as he hath pre[deposed]<br /> but the particular day of the month he remembreth not.
