Transcription Captaine and Mariners made towards dover pCaptaine and Mariners made towards dover plyeing their pump[?s]<br /> in hope to preserve themselves, but despairing of the shipp and ladeing<br /> yet it happened that a Pilot comeing from dover by the meanes of a<br /> Cable made fast to a Capstane ashoare did with helpe of men<br /> hale the ''Angelo Custoda'' by main force into the harbour of dover<br /> and so preserved her from shippwrack. And saith that the tempest<br /> still continueing she was dashed against [?the ?lands] and receyved<br /> great quantity of water so as she was neere five foot deep<br /> of water in the hold wheereby her lading as afterwards did<br /> appeare were very much damnifyed. And ten of the Mariners<br /> not daring to sayle longer in her fledd away and forsoake her<br /> and it was not possible to gett the sayd shipp for hamburgh<br /> but the sayd Captaine getting the great leakes in some measure<br /> stopt did with much hazard, and continuall pumping gett the<br /> sayd shipp and her lading to this Port of London, and there<br /> did unlade all the goods but the loose brimstone that served for<br /> ballast, and that soone after the sayd vessell sett aground<br /> and [?belayed] herselfe and oversett so as she could not be saved<br /> or raised agayne; she then having about thirty tonns of<br /> brimestone in her.
