52. yeares or thereabouts a Wittnes<br />
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet.
To the first and second articles of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth, That<br />
hee hath knowne the shipp the ''Margarett'' arlate (of which the arlate Robert<br />
ffox was and is Commander) for all the time arlate videlicet since the moneth of<br />
September in the yeare <u>1653.</u> arlate, and saith That for all that time the<br />
arlate Benjamin Crandley Arthr Bailey and Companie were and are<br />
commonly and generally knowne and observed to bee the true and Lawfull<br />
Owners and Proprietors of the said shipp the ''Margarett'' and of her tackle<br />
apparrell and furniture, And saith That in or about the moneths of<br />
September and October <u>1653.</u> last Past the said Vessell having beene graved<br />
and hauled of from the wayes of Mr Tailor the shippwright neare<br />
Wapping staires, was fastned and moored to the Vessell called the ''Sea=''<br />
''horse'' arlate, and there for severall daies ridd well moored and cleare of<br />
any other shipps whatsoever, and so was knowne and observed to be by<br />
divers seamen and Mariners The premises hee knoweth having belonged<br />
to the said shipp as Gunner thereof for all the time predeposed, and being<br />
aboard and seeing the mooreing and fastening of the said shipp as aforesaid<br />
And further hee cannot depose:-/
To the 3. and 4th articles hee saith, That the said Vessell the ''Margaret''<br />
having so ridd as aforesaid for about fourteene daies as this deponent remembreth<br />
the Vessell the ''May flower'' arlate, whereof the arlate William White<br />
was Commander came and was by the said White and Companie moored or<br />
fastned to a certaine Vessell whereof one Wall was then Commander<br />
then lying a little below the said Vessell the ''Margaret'', and having so ridd<br />
for some few daies, the said Mr Wall and Companie fetchd their anchors<br />
on board in order to proceed upon a Voyage, and this deponent saith, That at<br />
or about the beginning of the moneth of November .<u>1653.</u> last past the said<br />
