The city became the capital of the Province of Nueva Cataluña, which had been founded by del Pou in 1633. The Province was merged in 1654 into the New Andalusia Province, and the city of New Barcelona was refounded in 1671. Transcription Negros in the said shipp, And that much thNegros in the said shipp, And that much the said five Spaniards<br /> did likewise testifie in the Admiraltie Court the time aforesaid<br /> wherein this deponent was as aforesaid their Interpreter. And further<br /> hee cannot depose. the nineth article hee saith that the said five Spaniards did<br /> likewise informe this deponent that the said Governour Barr[XXXX GUTTER]<br /> had sent the said Pinke with the said License to Santa Domingo<br /> to the Governour and officers there, being a Supreme tribunal; that<br /> they might peruse and give allowance thereunto, and upon their<br /> answer the Gouvernour of New Barcellona did declare and affirme<br /> to Don Louis and Captaine Jacket that the Gouvernour of Saint Domingo<br /> and the kings officers there had approved and allowed of the said<br /> License; and therefore told them that they might putt their Negroes ashoare<br /> and dispose of them.
